If you are looking to help support a warm-hearted rescue organization for donations this year, then the FARM SANCTUARY is the perfect place to invest your dollar. The Farm Sanctuary helps rescue farm animals that have been abused or neglected and they provide them with a safe environment, freedom, and medical attention if needed.
They have a great donation section of their website that lists many different ways you or your company can help. Ranging from one time donations, monthly donations, annual donations and you can even contact them about Team Fundraising!! I made a one time donation this month because I am a huge animal rights advocate. It's really a wonderful thing to see some of those mama cows actually get to birth and KEEP their first calf, and the same goes for many other animals. Please help support this amazing organization today! FARM SANCTUARY

← First off, I have to tell you about the Green Smoothie I made this morning! I finally received all of my personal belongings from our cross-country move, and one of those items that I was thrilled to unpack was my VITAMIX!!! It has been a long 2 months of me living without my precious blender. Once you get used to drinking Green Smoothies 4-7 days a week, it is not the same without it. So, let me share with you my creative blend of the day: Just in case you haven't heard.. it's Veganpalooza time!! Veganpalooza is an online event that hosts guest speakers to cover topics such as veganism, food safety, environmental issues and health. Please take a moment to check it out! Veganpalooza Website.
I will be giving you some feedback from the event and share my experience afterwards. I also have some exciting news and updates to share with you next week! Until then, please remember to show compassion, love, and respect for this planet and it's creatures. -Lorel Yesterday I had the amazing opportunity to meet Judy Curry and attend her free yoga teacher training on Connected Warriors. It was so great to do another teacher training, and it was even better knowing that it was for a great cause. Connected Warriors is an charitable organization that helps offer FREE yoga classes to Veterans and their families. Connected Warriors is working it's way around the country to help provide a place for vets and their families to practice yoga a few times a week. As a military spouse myself, I can see how these services can greatly benefit military families nationwide. The teacher training I attended yesterday was just wonderful. Judy was really kind, knowledgeable and professional. It was so fun and I learned a lot of helpful information that can be applied to my everyday teaching as well. I am looking forward to working with Connected Warriors and hopefully starting up a class in my next location for veterans and their families. If you are a veteran, active duty or retired, and want to attend a yoga class with the Connected Warriors program, please click on this map to find the nearest location. This morning I woke up with an angry lower back and tight hip flexors, so I did a quick search on youtube for a good hip opening class and stumbled upon this lovely teacher. I really enjoyed her teaching style!! If you feel like you need a basic hip opening class to get things back into alignment, then please check out her video. As always, be mindful of your body and only go as far as your body allows for today. Enjoy and Namaste. This is a really informative and inspiring video for any athlete or any health nut. Even if you know absolutely nothing about eating raw or vegan, this world class bodybuilder knows his stuff! Just in case you didn't know, I am currently teaching Yoga classes at the Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington, NC.
Please take the opportunity to share this experience with me, as this is for a limited time only. We are leaving the Wilmington area this summer, and I would love to see a few new faces in my class before we leave. I teach a Beginner/ Intermediate level Vinyasa class on SATURDAYS at 10:00am. And if you don't have a mat, I always bring extras! Non-members $8 / Members $5 / Active Duty Military FREE! I like to think I have a lot of self discipline, but I realized that when it comes to intentionally starving myself for a day (fasting) it gets a little tricky. I never realized how much I love to eat until this cleanse. I love my smoothies and I love fresh produce, and just drinking water and maple syrup all day is kind of a drag. Granted I had enough energy to still do yoga and not feel drained at all, but I still had a deep hunger at least a few times throughout the day. So I guess that is my only complaint of the detox. I have a feeling the 3 day cleanse will be way more difficult than I predicted. Either way... I'm proud of my first one-day cleanse, and I'm praying for strength & enough discipline to complete the 3-day cleanse. Cheers!
So it is that time of year again... time for a good ole' fashioned cleanse!! I am going to start off with my liver by using natural home remedies for 3 days. Once that is finished, I will move on to a once-a-week fast. I have decided to choose Monday as my day fasting. Generally, I am a pretty healthy person, but I have never officially done an actual "Detox" regiment. So this will be new for me, and I'm pretty stoked about it! I will do an evaluation of my current self, and let you know if I notice any changes from this experiment. I'm sure my cells will thank me later. Happy cleansing! :)
"Healthiness is Happiness" is what I discovered about 13 years ago after deciding to change my diet and lifestyle. This website I found online today is offering great advice for finding a healthier happier you! A series of 3 hellpful videos can be found here for a limited time only. Many people ask me how I did it or what the hardest part is, and I think this guy does a great job summarizing his experience, challenges, and benefits of his lifestyle change. Spreading the word. Much love- Lorel |
