So today I decided to skip the greens in my smoothie and do an all fruit one. As usual, it was so good I had to share the recipe! So here ya have it:
»1 cup frozen dark cherries
»1/2 cup strawberries
»1/2 cup frozen mangoes
»2 tblsp flaxseeds
»1 dash cinnamon
All mixed in blender with water. Frozen/fresh ingredients may vary. I just like to have frozen fruits to make it cold. Enjoy! ~Lorel
Aloha Friday! Today I ordered some lovely business cards and I am excited to receive them in the mail soon. Hopefully the print quality is nice because I used photographs as the design for the background. We are kicking off this Aloha Friday by eating at our favorite Zpizza!! I always order the gluten-free vegan pizza, and it is absolutely amazing!!! It is literally an explosion of goodness in my mouth! I look forward to Friday's for this exact reason. I hope that you had a great Friday, and hopefully an awesome week! Aloha!
MERCY FOR ANIMALS posted a video the other day that shows the realities of what the average animal goes through to become food. I know it is hard to know the truth sometimes, but don't you think it is at least worth knowing the process behind what ends up on your plate? "Free-range" does not mean happy, free-roaming animals in a field, and "grass fed" does not mean they are happy cows with their young eating fresh grass their whole lives in paradise. These labels are strictly used for marketing to make us think that everything is wonderful in the farmed animal industry. This belief is far from the truth. Please take a moment to watch this video.
Here are some more websites for you to browse through about how animal rights:
I just checked out Chris Wark's webpage ChrisBeatCancer.com and was inspired enough to share his story on my blog. At the age of 26 he was diagnosed with Stage 3 Colon Cancer. He had a tumor the size of a golf ball in his colon removed, and resisted everyone's advice to follow up with chemo and chose the RAW FOOD VEGAN DIET path instead. Please check out Chris Wark's WEBSITE to read more about his journey and view his youtube videos. If this is your first time of hearing of alternative therapies to cancer treatment and prevention, then please also check out the Gerson Therapy website.
Wild Earth Market is a one-stop shop for all of your health supplementation needs. You can search their products easily by using their handy and user-friendly CATEGORIES. I love buying my vitamins and other random health needs from this site, because it's easy to navigate and they have quick response time. I personally enjoy the "refined search" option because I can narrow down my search to vegan-friendly options. WEM is also a family-owned business located in NC, so they provide great personalized service! It is always awesome to try and support the home-grown, local businesses. Please check out their online store and FACEBOOK page to and see how you can save $ today!
If you are looking to help support a warm-hearted rescue organization for donations this year, then the FARM SANCTUARY is the perfect place to invest your dollar. The Farm Sanctuary helps rescue farm animals that have been abused or neglected and they provide them with a safe environment, freedom, and medical attention if needed.
They have a great donation section of their website that lists many different ways you or your company can help. Ranging from one time donations, monthly donations, annual donations and you can even contact them about Team Fundraising!! I made a one time donation this month because I am a huge animal rights advocate. It's really a wonderful thing to see some of those mama cows actually get to birth and KEEP their first calf, and the same goes for many other animals. Please help support this amazing organization today!
← First off, I have to tell you about the Green Smoothie I made this morning! I finally received all of my personal belongings from our cross-country move, and one of those items that I was thrilled to unpack was my VITAMIX!!! It has been a long 2 months of me living without my precious blender. Once you get used to drinking Green Smoothies 4-7 days a week, it is not the same without it. So, let me share with you my creative blend of the day:
Just in case you haven't heard.. it's Veganpalooza time!! Veganpalooza is an online event that hosts guest speakers to cover topics such as veganism, food safety, environmental issues and health. Please take a moment to check it out! Veganpalooza Website.
I will be giving you some feedback from the event and share my experience afterwards. I also have some exciting news and updates to share with you next week! Until then, please remember to show compassion, love, and respect for this planet and it's creatures. -Lorel
This is a really informative and inspiring video for any athlete or any health nut. Even if you know absolutely nothing about eating raw or vegan, this world class bodybuilder knows his stuff!
