So I am taking a little poll to see who might be interested in taking a class with me via skype. Several people have contacted me inquiring about skype yoga since my recent relocation, and I wanted to do a quick poll to see how many of you might be interested. Voting is completely anonymous btw. I would probably offer Skype Yoga a few days a week, and I am currently trying to figure out what times would work best. Please take a moment to share your thoughts or submit your vote. Thank you and happy voting!! -Lorel

"The person whose mind is free from anxiety about sorrows, and free from greed for pleasures, with rage, passion and fear gone, whose thoughts are firm, that one is said to be sage."
-The Bhagavad Gita Yesterday I pushed myself to practice yoga for 2.5 hours, since I haven't been able to practice for a week. As I rest and restore from my soreness, I stumbled across this quote from this book I picked up last week. This is such a humbling quote for me right now. We have been looking for places to live this week, and we keep talking about what we need, desire, or feel entitled to have at our residence. It's funny how we sometimes get wrapped up with what we think or feel, and we often forget to just absorb "what is" and where we are in our lives and just be present. Try to free yourself from your thoughts and your emotions at some point today. It can be really refreshing. So, today I had to go buy a cheap yoga mat... thankfully Ross had one for $6.99 and it's a sassy, hot pink yoga mat. I couldn't last another day without my practice!!! All this traveling and recent stressors have twisted my body into knots. The other day I did some headstands on the beach, but that was just a tease. It's funny how your body gets used to doing something regularly then freaks out when you stop. Exciting news: I looked up the nearest studio and to my surprise it is only 1.4 miles away! You better believe I am showing up for that Vinyasa class in about 11 hours (not that I'm counting or anything). What a pleasant surprise to find a studio nearby! Now I can juggle the gym and the yoga studio around to get a nice routine down! Stoked!!! What pleasant surprises have you run into today?? I hope you have a marvelous Tuesday and please remember to honor your body today. Namaste. ♡ Lorel Yesterday I had the amazing opportunity to meet Judy Curry and attend her free yoga teacher training on Connected Warriors. It was so great to do another teacher training, and it was even better knowing that it was for a great cause. Connected Warriors is an charitable organization that helps offer FREE yoga classes to Veterans and their families. Connected Warriors is working it's way around the country to help provide a place for vets and their families to practice yoga a few times a week. As a military spouse myself, I can see how these services can greatly benefit military families nationwide. The teacher training I attended yesterday was just wonderful. Judy was really kind, knowledgeable and professional. It was so fun and I learned a lot of helpful information that can be applied to my everyday teaching as well. I am looking forward to working with Connected Warriors and hopefully starting up a class in my next location for veterans and their families. If you are a veteran, active duty or retired, and want to attend a yoga class with the Connected Warriors program, please click on this map to find the nearest location. This morning I woke up with an angry lower back and tight hip flexors, so I did a quick search on youtube for a good hip opening class and stumbled upon this lovely teacher. I really enjoyed her teaching style!! If you feel like you need a basic hip opening class to get things back into alignment, then please check out her video. As always, be mindful of your body and only go as far as your body allows for today. Enjoy and Namaste. Just in case you didn't know, I am currently teaching Yoga classes at the Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington, NC.
Please take the opportunity to share this experience with me, as this is for a limited time only. We are leaving the Wilmington area this summer, and I would love to see a few new faces in my class before we leave. I teach a Beginner/ Intermediate level Vinyasa class on SATURDAYS at 10:00am. And if you don't have a mat, I always bring extras! Non-members $8 / Members $5 / Active Duty Military FREE! |
